A very short version of the Danish Equal project - "The Whole Family at Work"

Targetgroup and location
The targetgroup of the project is unemployed migrants from countries outside the Nordic countries, EU and Northern America.

The whole family is the base of the coaching in the project. This means that we are 'dealing' with households - mum, dad, children (age 16+), uncles, aunts, and so on.

The families all live in the countryside in Jutland in 3 minor (inhabitants around 8.500) municipalities - Langaa, Noerhald and Purhus.

Maingoal and goals
This project has as its maingoal to develop tools and methods, that will secure migrants acces to and lasting employment on the labourmarket.

This will be done through using and developing a holistic coachmethod. The coaching will take place in the family (their home).

By improving - developing of concept - the danish language training in the language school and in the workplace and improving knowledge about the Danish labourmarket.

By taking different actions in order to fight barriers preventing employment - on the labourmarket, in the systems and in the families.

Main actions taken to improve the integrationproces towards employment and fighting different barriers
Developing and implementing a mentor training concept

Developing and implementing a best practice for considering diversity as a plus in the companies and among the employees in the workplace.

Developing and implementing concepts for improvement of the danish language training in the workplace and in the lanugaugeschools

Defining and implementing a concept of the knowledge needed about the Danish labourmarket and Danish workplaces very early in the integrationproces.

Developing the methods that the local coaches use in the integrationproces towards a holistic coaching/guidance

Setting up networks of all partners involved (including targetgroup representatives) in the proces from social benefits to work in order to improve knowledge about one another and to improve the possibilities of the targetgroup for finding out where there are vacancies and which skills (soft and vocational) are needed.

Developing a method and tools for a collaborating network in the integrationproces between small municipalities

The development partnership
The partnership that with mutual efforts will see this project succesfully fulfilled and mainstreamed consists of:
